Overall, this module taught me a lot about the development of architecture, from the beginning of time to Modern Architecture. I was able to learn how different factors influenced the architectural style & components of an era, which was very intriguing. As I love conducting research as well as designing, this was the least demanding module for me. Architecture history & theory was a bit difficult at first, with most of my group members failing to uphold their responsibilities in the first project. However, I enjoyed working on all the individual projects.
Lifelong Learning → i independently located & extracted information regarding the architectural components & vocabulary of a certain historical period.
Discipline Specific Knowledge → I was able to recognize the appropriate sequence of historical periods & their architectural representations, and understand historical established architectural contexts.
I did not mind at all the fact that this module was (almost) completely online, as it wasn’t necessary. I appreciate my tutors allowing us to work from the comfort of our homes, and always being on standby for any enquiries we had. In addition, I enjoyed playing Kahoot games during class, as they were very engaging & actually helped me retain information.
Mr. Azim was a great tutor, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to be one of his students. His cheerfulness and positive energy made me look forward to class every week. He would always tend to my enquiries, some even late at night. I appreciated the feedback I received from him for my work, which helped me improve immensely.
Dr. Filzani was a great module coordinator. She is a very intelligent and thoughtful lecturer that finds ways to make class every week interesting. I especially respect the fact of how organized everything on TIMeS was.
