Design communication was overall a very enjoyable module for myself, and probably my favorite module of the semester. Not only was it fun, I learned a lot that is vital to my architectural journey. I was able to utilize my newly developed skills in my other two modules, which greatly improved the quality of my work. These skills include the importance of line weight, different hatching methods, architectural lettering, and how to produce different types of architectural projections. I can guarantee that I will certainly be using these skills for the rest of my architectural journey.
Digital Literacy → I effectively utilized augmented reality software to enhance my audience’s experience with my projects.
Thinking and Problem Solving skills → I thought creatively when I combined a human figure, man made objects, architectural lettering, and natural elements to produce a realistic movie poster that captures the essence of the actual narrative of the movie.
I am so grateful for how my tutors utilized online and physical classes for what was most convenient for students. It can be a bit of a hassle to come to campus everyday, and so our tutors ensured that if it was possible for a class to be held online, it would definitely be. However, online learning definitely bears its downsides when it comes to receiving feedback. Therefore, I would look forward to the physical classes where I can (kindly) bombard my tutor with questions and seek feedback. But if a question was urgent, my tutor would definitely reply to me online.
My tutor, Ar. Zahari was a pleasure to work with. I recall this one time I interviewed him for about half an hour about how architecture developed from when he was in college, back in the 80s. I could really tell his passion for teaching when he would sit there and discuss with me for long periods of time over how a project should be carried out, and what I can do to improve my drawings. I am grateful to have had him as a tutor this semester.
Dr. Filzani Lia is an absolute gem of a lecturer. She is a student-oriented teacher, which I believe is an extremely effective way to handle such a large class. Despite her being the module coordinator for a batch of about 90 students, she would always somehow respond to my late-night enquiries almost immediately.
