Architectural Allotment

In groups of 3-4, within the context of our  Kebun Komuniti Plan of 'Connecting the Dots' we had to design an Architectural Allotment, which is intended to showcase architectural form as a construct of materiality for a proposed set of activities related to plant cultivation.  The examination of issues based on plant culture, as well as the requirements for sitting, shading, and storage, will link to Project 2's programmatic requirements.

'The Transpiration Hub'

In plants, roots absorb water & essential nutrients from the soil. Transpiration happens when this water is carried all throughout & essentially cools the plant in the process. The ‘Transpiration Hub’ aims to mimic this process, creating a small yet meaningful fruits & veggie market conveniently located at an intersection, bringing the freshest produce to locals in a naturally cooled space.

Reflection

Project 1 was relatively a difficult one to complete, as we had such a short period of time. Not only did we have to come up with the structures, we also had to conduct research, create poems, study precedents, poetic architecture, concentric & linear architecture, and so much more. It was so draining to lead and be responsible for a large group of people while also tackling the project.  In addition, I found myself having to complete my group's delegated tasks because i didn't have the heart to tell them their work was rejected by our tutors. Overall, i am grateful to have been placed in such a competent group, and i am satisfied with our end product.
